Tidying up

When George had finished working on the porch, he did a few other little jobs for us.  Back in October 2020 he and his brother, Dylan, laid an area of concrete in the front patio area.  It was fine at first but after a while it shrank away from the surrounding, original, concrete path.  It left quite a gap all round the area and looked a tad unsightly, to be honest.  This had also made it a slight trip hazard.  George put down another layer of concrete on top which made it look a whole lot better.  Naturally I forgot to take a "before" photo so you'll just have to take my word for it 😄

We had some of the slate paving leftover from the path in front of the porch.  George cut down a piece to fit over the manhole cover which sits in the kitchen garden area.  Adrian had made a frame for it with a wooden lid, but the latter was warping quite considerably.  It looks very much better with the slate atop the frame, and so that it is less of a trip hazard I have a large plant pot set on it.

The three remaining, whole slabs, have been made use of in the new patio area in the back garden.  It's extended the area of crazy paving that was put down when we had the craft/store room built.  Eventually Adrian plans to have a second log store set where the remains of the soil mountain is currently, so the slabs will make it easier to manoeuvre a wheelbarrow round there.  These photos were taken last October, and I'm pleased to tell you that said soil mountain has shrunk considerably since then!

Ta daa!  Even with just the scratch coat on, it looked better than the bare concrete blocks it was built with.

The exterior of the greenhouse is finally finished!  The harling matches that on the store/craft room, and the walls where the bins live.

I'm a very happy little bunny, I can tell you 😊
