It was a grand day when Shug got the windows and door installed last October. Even if the weather turned and we had had to call a temporary halt to the remaining external work, at least the porch was now enclosed.
As you know it's still the same width but now has very much less depth than the old porch. This makes it somewhat tricky to take internal photos!
The lighting, obviously, hadn't yet been installed either so it was a tad dark. Still, I'm sure the photos are clear enough to give you an idea of the inside 😊
Mother Nature was on our side, though, and the weather stayed good enough for George to come back to at least get the scratch coat on.
It's amazing what a difference even this made to the look of the porch. I've no idea what Adrian was looking at so intently but he was obviously inspecting something 😄
George scratch-coated the wall alongside the new path. And look at that ~ instead of steps we now have a gentle slope from the original side path to the porch door.
He also used the same slate to top the little wall, ready for railings in due course.
We decided to have concrete window sills, like we did on the craft/store room, as we thought they would weather better than uPVC over the years.
It was so good to have got this far and we were keeping our fingers crossed that the exterior would be completely finished before the winter weather started to arrive 🤞
